Ghouls are zombies and skeletons who have gained sentience from various means. They were first discovered among a human colony, whose afterlife traditions included raising dead loved ones as undead. After many millennia of this practice the oldest of the zombies and skeletons began displaying odd behaviors, eventually they were able to communicate and displayed signs of having gained sentience. Eventually they were welcomed into the community and protected by the colonists, the sentient undead population continued to grow, until one day a ship arrived in port. The ship in itself was nothing unusual, but the people on board were carrying a strange plague that wiped out all the living people on the island. By this time the undead population was fairly large and those who were versed in the ritual began performing it on the colonists who were dying of the plague until finally the island became overrun with undead. Those who were able began slowly leaving their home, and eventually found that the entire world had been effected by the plague, so they performed the ritual wherever they could. Eventually changing the world’s entire population into undead.
Ability Score Increase: Your Constitution score increases by 2.
Age: Age since becoming self aware. Ghouls do require a certain amount of education before they are capable of sustaining themselves and leaving their home, usually this occurs at roughly ten years.
Undead Traits: Undead do not require sleep or food, and are immune to poison damage.
Alignment: Ghouls don’t have racial alignment preference

Shades are small undead, who have become to used to being overlooked that the shadows themselves have incorporated themselves into the very fiber of Shade Ghouls.
Ability Score Increase: Dex + 1
Speed : 25 ft
Shadow Walk: Once per long rest, Shade Ghouls can teleport from one shadowed area to another within 500 ft. You arrive at exactly the spot desired. You must be able to see the location you are teleporting to. You can bring along objects as long as their weight doesn’t exceed what you can carry. You can also bring along a willing creature of your size or smaller who is carrying gear up to its carrying capacity. The creature must be within 5 ft of you when you use this ability. If you would arrive in a place already occupied by an object or creature, you and any creature with you each take 4d6 force damage and the ability fails to teleport you.
Revenant are medium undead who retain instinctive memories of their past life.
Ability Score Increase: increase one ability score by 1.
Speed: 30 ft
Feat: Your instinctive memory of your past life grants you a single feat, chosen at creation.
Goliath Ghouls are medium undead of towering stature and immense weight and strength.
Ability Score Increase: Str + 1
Speed: 20 ft
Quake Stomp: Once per long rest, Goliath Ghouls can stomp on the ground causing everyone within a 5 ft radius circle centered on the Ghoul must make a dex save against Save DC 8 + prof + str or be knocked prone.
Powerful Build: A goliath Ghoul can use larger weapons than other medium ghouls. Essentially increasing the die size of damage dealt with weapons of a larger size.
